Access: Who can trade securities at BISON?
Securities trading is currently available to a clearly defined user group. To be able to buy shares or ETFs, the following requirements must be met:
Nationality: You hold German citizenship.
Residence: Your officially registered primary residence is in Germany.
Tax liability: You are exclusively liable to tax in Germany.
Phone number: A German registered mobile phone number
If you do not meet these criteria (for example, if you have a different nationality or live abroad), the securities section will not be displayed to you in the app for regulatory reasons.
Activation takes place through a renewed verification and submission of your identification document. Has your ID expired since your verification or do you receive an error message when submitting your ID? Then please contact BISON Support.
Asset classes: What exactly can I trade?
When trading securities at BISON, it is necessary to buy or sell a full unit of a security. Partial share purchases or sales are not possible.
BISON offers you a selection of different types of securities. Here is a brief overview of what the abbreviations mean:
Shares: By buying a share, you acquire a stake in a company and thus become a co-owner.
ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds): An ETF replicates the performance of an entire index (such as the DAX). So you invest in a whole basket of shares with just one purchase.
ETCs (Exchange Traded Commodities): These are securities that reflect the price development of commodities (such as gold or silver).
ETPs (Exchange Traded Products): This is a collective term for various products that track the performance of an underlying asset.

Can I trade securities outside trading hours?
At BISON, you can only trade within the securities trading hours, from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm. Usually from Monday to Friday, excluding certain public holidays. You can view the holidays here: https://www.boerse-stuttgart.de/de-de/handel/handelszeiten/
Can I also place limit orders, stop orders or savings plans for securities?
Currently, BISON does not yet offer savings plans or order functions for securities. We are working on making this possibility available to you.
Can I immediately withdraw the proceeds from the sale of a financial product?
No, proceeds from the sale of financial products are only available for withdrawal to your reference account after a few bank working days. However, you are welcome to reinvest the proceeds directly after the sale in other financial products.
Legal: Ownership and Documentation
When buying securities via BISON, there are two important points you should know:
Your role as owner: Legally, you are the beneficial owner of the securities you have purchased.
Basic Information Sheet (BIB): For every ETF or structured product, BISON provides you with a basic information sheet. It contains all important details about the risks, costs and strategy of the product. You should always briefly review this document before purchasing – you can find it directly in the app with the respective product.
