To ensure your cryptocurrencies are maximally protected with BISON, we use the principle of secure sessions. Here you will learn exactly what this means and why you absolutely need your smartphone for certain actions.
Concept: Secure Sessions
A secure session represents an additional authorisation to guarantee the security of your cryptocurrency withdrawals. This measure is applied specifically in two cases to ensure that only authorised transactions can be carried out and your digital assets are optimally protected.
For cryptocurrency withdrawals via the BISON Web App on the desktop, an additional security approval is necessary to prevent unauthorised transactions.
For withdrawals via the BISON App on smartphone or tablet, secure session is required if the device is not used regularly or not saved as trusted to protect your account.
The secure session at BISON protects you from phishing attacks and prevents unauthorised access. If your login details are stolen, cryptocurrency withdrawals are not possible, as the secure session can only be carried out via the mobile device saved as trusted in your BISON settings.
What is the trusted device?
Your trusted device refers to a smartphone or tablet on which the mobile BISON App is installed and which has been saved as trusted in your BISON settings. Such a device is used regularly by you and is considered secure, so no additional secure session is necessary for withdrawals from this device.
How can I add my first trusted device to my account?
If you have not yet connected a trusted device to your account, you can add it via the BISON App. Navigate in the BISON App on the mobile device which you want to mark as trusted, to:

Account ➞ Security ➞ Trusted Devices

Then click “Trust device” on the current device and follow the instructions in the app.
Note: Only mobile devices can be marked as trusted in BISON.
Approval: Confirm withdrawals on PC (web version)
To start a secure session, navigate in the mobile BISON App on your already trusted mobile device to Account ➞ Security ➞ Secure Session ➞ Start a secure session. You can then continue and complete the desired withdrawal of your cryptocurrency.
The secure session remains active for 20 minutes. You have the option to extend it directly in the BISON App under Account ➞ Security ➞ Secure Session. If the time expires before you extend the secure session or complete the withdrawal of your cryptocurrencies, the secure session must be restarted on your trusted mobile device.
Device change: Linking a new smartphone
Please note: A new mobile device must always be marked as trusted by an already trusted mobile device. You can mark multiple mobile devices as trusted.
The following three steps are required:
Simply log in to the BISON App on the new smartphone or tablet to pair a new mobile device.
To mark this mobile device as trusted, navigate on the already trusted mobile device to Account > Settings > Paired Devices.
Click “Trust device” on the desired smartphone or tablet and you’re done.
Device lost, stolen or defective?
If you no longer have access to your trusted device, you can reset your settings in the BISON App and then mark a new trusted device.
Navigate to Account > Security > Trusted Devices to reset on a mobile device in your BISON App and follow the instructions in the app.
What happens if I don’t have a mobile device to mark as trusted?
To be able to withdraw cryptocurrencies, you need a mobile device marked as trusted in the settings. Without such a device, no withdrawal is possible, as a secure session is required for this. In this case, please contact our support team via our contact form.
