Cardano (ADA)

Cardano (ADA) is the first proof-of-stake blockchain platform based on a research-driven development process with peer reviews. The technology enables the development of decentralised applications and smart contracts in a modular way in a secure and efficient manner. Proponents claim that Cardano's Ouroboros protocol improves security, scalability, and energy efficiency compared to other proof-of-work predecessors such as Bitcoin. The platform was founded in 2015 by Ethereum co-founder Charles Hoskinson and Jeremy Wood.
