Which address formats per cryptocurrency are supported by BISON?

If you want to withdraw cryptos to a (cold) wallet, we check the address you provide for common errors. Please ensure that the address you provide is correct and that you are the beneficial owner of the recipient wallet.

Please also note when depositing to BISON: Sending via other networks leads to an irreversible loss. No credit will be made to your BISON account.

Bitcoin (BTC)

Ethereum (ETH)

When withdrawing Ethereum, we only accept recipient addresses that contain a checksum (numbers as well as upper and lower case).

BISON supports deposits and withdrawals only of ETH, but not ERC20 tokens, which are based on the Ethereum blockchain but are not identical to Ether and therefore are not supported by the BISON Ether Wallet. ETH transactions can only be transferred from/to the main network of ETH. Other networks, such as the Arbitrium Layer 2 Solution/ Linea / Optimism / Polygon / Binance Smart Chain, are not supported.

When withdrawing ERC20 tokens, we only accept recipient addresses that contain a checksum (numbers as well as upper and lower case).

ERC20 token transactions can only be transferred from/to the main network of ETH. Other networks, such as the Arbitrium Layer 2 Solution/ Linea / Optimism / Polygon / Binance Smart Chain, are not supported.

2. Starts with tz2: "tz2" addresses are intended for smart contracts and are derived from the hash of the smart contract code.

4. Starts with KT1: Used to identify smart contracts on the Tezos network. A smart contract is a program stored on the blockchain and executed by the network. KT1 addresses are used to interact with smart contracts, e.g., to deploy a new contract or call its functions.

Avalanche (AVAX)

1. Starts with 0x: C-Chain (Contract Chain): Using the Contract Chain, you can withdraw AVAX from your BISON account to your wallet that supports AVAX. Please note that only this network and address format (starting with 0x) is supported for withdrawal.
2. Starts with x-avax: X-Chain (Exchange Chain): The X-Chain is also used for sending and receiving AVAX, but is not supported by most DeFi platforms. It is also not supported by BISON.
3. Starts with p-avax: P-Chain (Platform Chain): The so-called P-Chain is used for staking AVAX. This network with the associated addresses is not supported by BISON.

• Length: The address must be between 2 and 64 characters long
• Check system accounts: Certain system names like system, near, testnet etc. are not allowed

Allowed formats:

• Use only lowercase letters (a–z), numbers (0–9), hyphens (-) or underscores (_)
• Subaddresses (subaccounts) such as max.wallet, julia.personal, benutzer.meinkonto are allowed
• The address must be at least 2 and at most 64 characters long
• Alternatively, a 64-character public key in hex format is also possible

Not allowed formats:
