In this article, you will learn how to actively register your cryptocurrencies for staking, how to end the process, and how the payout of your rewards works.
How to start your staking
As soon as you hold a staking-enabled cryptocurrency (such as Ethereum) with BISON and have reached the minimum amount, you can start with just a few clicks.
Process step Activate staking
Navigate to the "Staking" section.
Select the desired cryptocurrency.
Click on "Stake now" and confirm the amount you want to set.
Your coins will now be transferred to the staking pool. Please note that there may be a short activation phase before the first rewards are generated.
Can I stake immediately after buying Ethereum (ETH) or Solana (SOL) for the first time at BISON?
If you have bought Ethereum (ETH) or Solana (SOL) at BISON for the first time and want to stake immediately, it may take up to 2 days for Ethereum (ETH) and up to 4 days for Solana (SOL) to start staking due to technical reasons in some cases. For all further purchases of ETH or SOL, you can stake your ETH immediately.
Unstaking cryptocurrencies
You can end the staking process to regain control over your cryptocurrencies.
Process step Initiate unstaking
Go to the respective cryptocurrency in the staking section.
Click on the option "Unstake" or "End staking".
Confirm the procedure. Your coins will now leave the staking pool.
Important note Waiting times and lock-up periods (Unbonding): Your cryptocurrencies are not immediately available again after unstaking.
Protocol lock-up period: Each blockchain (e.g. Ethereum or Solana) has its own security periods, the so-called "Unbonding Period". During this time, the coins are neither staked nor freely tradable.
Duration: These periods can vary between several days and several weeks depending on network load and cryptocurrency. You can always view the current status of your unstaking process transparently in your app.

Staking rewards and APR
The rewards for your staking are credited regularly and increase your balance of the respective cryptocurrency.
Rewards Payout frequency and APR
Annual Percentage Rate (APR): The APR indicates how high your expected reward is calculated over one year. This value is dynamic and depends on the conditions of the respective blockchain network.
Payout: Your rewards are credited to you weekly.
