Crypto Special Cases: Airdrops, Forks and Delistings

In the crypto world, there are always special technical events or regulatory changes. Here you can find out how BISON deals with airdrops, network splits (hard forks) and the removal of coins from trading (delisting).

Gift - Airdrops and Free Coins

An airdrop is a distribution of free cryptocurrencies to existing holders of a specific coin. This often happens for marketing purposes or when launching new projects.

  • Support at BISON: Basically, the coins held in trust by Boerse Stuttgart Digital Custody GmbH as part of the use of BISON do not participate in an airdrop.

  • Information: If you want to participate in an airdrop, you have the option to transfer the affected cryptocurrency to your external wallet, which participates in the airdrop, in good time before the airdrop.

Technology - Hard Forks (Blockchain Splits)

A hard fork occurs when a blockchain splits into two separate networks – and thus into two different coins – due to disagreements in the community or major technical updates.

  • Safety first: During a hard fork, the security of your holdings has top priority. To avoid losses, trading as well as deposits and withdrawals for the affected coin may be temporarily suspended.

  • Credit of new coins: Whether the newly created coin after a hard fork is listed on BISON and credited to customers is decided on a case-by-case basis after a strict review.

Trading - Delistings (Removal of Cryptocurrencies)

Sometimes we have to remove certain cryptocurrencies from our offering (as was the case in the past with Enjin Coin). This usually happens due to regulatory changes, technical security concerns or if a project no longer meets our quality standards.

  • Transparent advance warning: We always inform you well in advance by email and directly in the app if a coin is removed from trading.

  • Your options: In the notification you will receive a clearly defined time window. During this time, you can either sell your holdings of this coin normally via BISON or have them paid out to your own external wallet.

Enjin Coin (ENJ) Delisting

Why was trading with Enjin Coin (ENJ) discontinued on BISON?
The Enjin Relaychain is not supported by BISON. Accordingly, trading with ENJ on BISON is discontinued. If you own ENJ on BISON, it is now important to take action.

Until when could I sell Enjin Coin (ENJ) on BISON?
You had the opportunity to sell Enjin Coin (ENJ) until 28/01/2025 inclusive. After that, the sale of Enjin Coin (ENJ) on BISON was discontinued.

How can I have the remaining Enjin Coin (ENJ) on BISON paid out?
You can transfer your Enjin Coin (ENJ) on BISON to your external wallet via the Ethereum blockchain. A direct transfer via the new Enjin Relaychain is not possible.

If you want to learn more about the migration to the Enjin Relaychain, please refer directly to the help centre provided by Enjin at the following link: https://support.enjin.io/hc/en-gb/articles/15492796894737-How-to-migrate-ERC20-ENJ-EFI-tokens-to-Native-ENJ
