Participation: How do I gain access to BISON Select?
BISON customers with a crypto trading volume of €40,000 per year receive a personal invitation to become a BISON Select member. To use the advantages of BISON Select (such as the Silver status), your active consent is required.
You can easily register directly in the BISON app for the programme (opt-in via "Join BISON Select").
Once you have agreed to the terms and conditions, your current status will be calculated and stored for your account.
Afterwards, you will see "Continue trading" under Account, provided you have agreed

How is my crypto trading volume calculated?
For BISON Select, only your crypto trading volume over the last 12 months is taken into account. It does not matter whether you made a single trade of €40,000 or 100 trades of €400 each.
Your current BISON Select level remains for at least 12 months after reaching the minimum trading volume, even if your trading volume falls below the required threshold during this period
Please note: securities transactions (such as stocks, ETFs or commodities) or generating staking rewards do not count towards the trading volume.
What happens if my trading volume is below my current level for longer than 12 months?
If your trading volume is below the minimum trading volume of your current level for longer than 12 months, you will be assigned to the level that corresponds to your then valid trading volume.
What levels are there in BISON Select?
BISON Select is divided into three levels: Silver, Gold and Platinum. The higher your crypto trading volume, the more exclusive your advantages become. The current level is based on your crypto trading volume over the last 12 months.

Overview of the advantages
Advantages: How does the crypto cashback work?
As a BISON Select member, you are rewarded for your activity.
You receive a percentage cashback on your crypto trades (buy or sell), which is paid out to your account in Bitcoin (BTC) bundled at the end of each calendar month.
The tax treatment of crypto cashbacks
Since the topic of taxes on crypto transactions and bonuses is very complex, please note the following legal framework for your BISON Select rewards:
BISON expressly points out that cashbacks from the bonus program may be taxable in Germany (usually as so-called other income pursuant to § 22 No. 3 EStG).
All credits are transparently shown for you in your BISON CSV export, so you can categorize them accordingly for your tax return or in tax tools (such as Blockpit).
Note: BISON is not authorized and cannot provide individual tax advice. Please always clarify the exact tax treatment for your personal situation with your tax advisor or the competent tax office.
Advantages: 1 Year Holding Period Tracker
If you have provided a German tax identification number, the app conveniently shows you which crypto assets you have held for over one year. Here you see your crypto holdings at BISON that you have held for longer than one year. The value under each asset shows your profit or loss if you were to sell this position now.
Please note that this display is designed for persons subject to tax in Germany.
How does the holding period tracker work with transfers to own wallets?
If you transfer cryptocurrencies from BISON to an external wallet (e.g. your Ledger, another exchange) and later send them back to BISON, the 1 year holding period tracker in the BISON app for these coins starts again at zero.
Why is that? Once cryptocurrencies leave our platform, the continuous history breaks off for our system. Even if you later send exactly the same amount back to us, we cannot technically verify with 100% certainty what happened to these coins in the meantime. Therefore, our system must treat your transfer to the external wallet as an "outflow" and the later return to BISON as a "new inflow" (similar to a new purchase). The tracker thus starts counting again from day one.
Important for your taxes: The BISON holding period tracker is a service feature that can only record holdings that remain continuously in your BISON account. However, this does not mean that your actual tax holding period is lost! If you have merely stored the coins on your own wallet, you can simply declare these deposits and withdrawals as a tax-neutral "custody transfer" in a tax tool (such as Blockpit). Your original holding period will then remain correctly preserved there.
Advantages: Commission-free stock trades
Depending on your status, BISON waives the transmission fee for a certain number of securities purchases per month – up to completely free trading in the Platinum status. How many free monthly trades you have left can be found by clicking "Show my free trades". |

You have the option to apply for an increase to an unlimited amount for individual deposits in the app. You do this directly in the app/web. Select Account and BISON Select. Then choose the tab "Deposit funds" under "One-time Unlimited Deposit". You will be directed to the request form. After submitting, our Premium Support will take care of the further process and get back to you. |
